It's birthday time!

Last Saturday Mom and I got to spend a big chunk of the day at Desh's Birthday Party. After helping put up decorations, (I own the ladder) we spent time with the Ryans and the Poduskas eating and catching up on family news.

And then of course there was cake. The reddest cake I have ever seen. Note how good Desh looks in red?

Never a Dull Moment

Starting today, I have a new job. It is looking for a new job. I have been layed off three times in my life. Each time was right at the end of a recession, when the news was that unemployment was decreasing and the economy was improving. So, the good news is that there will be better times in the future.

I was glad to get out of my current job. The conditions have been deteriorating for the past year. They have been slowly taking away all the benefits and reasons for taking the job in the first place, so, I look at this as a great opportunity and chance to make abetter life. Plus, I LOVE looking for a job. Yeah, right.

This weekend I drove to Visalia to help Ryan put up decorations for a Stake Dinner/Dance. It had a French theme and Ryan did the usual understated decorating scheme. An Eifel Tower. French storefronts and Cafe's. A thousand points of light in the sky. You know. That sort of thing. Seriously, it looked fabulous. I was there until four PM. He finished at 1am. Her are a few pictures, but, as usual, the photos don't do it justice.

This week is project pick up. That means that we can put almost anything out on the curb and the city will haul it away for free. This year we have nothing of interest to haul away so all we did was put out trimmings. The yard looks bare now but in the springtime it will be gorgeous.

A couple of weeks ago, Suzanne and I went to Hawaii (the big Island) with Allyson, Ken and grandson Desh. We had a blast. We got so relaxed that by the end of the week we were having a hard time speaking in complete sentences!

The fun begins.

I want to share with you some of the things I do to fill up my days. Some days are pretty crowded. Some are a bit lonely. Some of them are pretty boring, but sometimes, even I can get surprised with what I do or get done. Join me.
